I have to run Preview THREE TIMES, and also, I HAVE TO SELECT _MY_ TARGET FOLDER THREE TIMES!
Default Folder is your friend. I've been using it since it came out (around System 7).
You can set it to remember the last open/save location, and it has many other useful goodies.
Oh, what about a temporary change in an image inside Preview ? [saved automatically to fileā¦] I am quite sure it hurts my productivity (maybe not hurt a newbie ?)
I use GraphicConverter. BTW: In the old time (yes, I'm an oldster: 57 y/o), we get manuals with computers... to avoid to ask friends things / looks stupid (or idiot [;-)].
I used to have monster manuals chock full of info and examples for dBASE III+ and other software.
You're doing screenshots to the clipboard and then saving them? Why not do the screenshot to a file in the first place?
Oh, I get Lion with the MacBook Pro (late 2011) which is delivered without Lion DVD nor Applications DVD! A Shame. How am I supposed to make a backup before erasing the hard disk ? I am lost.
You don't want to erase the hard drive - perhaps your Lion partition but not the hard drive itself.
You have another partition called 'Recovery HD' from which you can reinstall Lion.
Do a Google search for "Lion install disk from recovery partition", and you'll find a great deal of information.
There are ways around most of the worst offending issues with Lion, but not all.
What do you mean by the TextEdit Find/Replace UID function? You mean the User Interface?
I don't like it much. I've used it extensively and find it kludgy. You have to jump through too many hoops when you close it.
What about the abysmal uneven scroll function in Preview? What about the stupid animated page up/down in same?
I'm going to restore TextEdit from Snow Leopard, and I may well do so with Preview as well.
