I'm one of those people who give reasoned arguments about the issue. :)
Two in this thread alone. (You very considerately edited the second one
from your reply.) Several of the majority of respondents in this thread
who've come out against top-posting have also given good reasons. I've
yet to see any reasoned arguments at all from the supporters of top-
posting. Their posts so far have amounted to "It makes perfect sense to
me" or "You'll never change me". All are belligerently top-posted and
quite a few retain unedited quotes despite earlier complaints from
others about that very lack of consideration. I must admit that that
sort of attitude — rather than top-quoting itself — does tend to wind me
up. However, I no longer contribute much to this forum, so it won't do
to throw my weight around or to lose any sleep over it.
