Does it matter, or do std and admin account users both require a password when changing this setting.
This may be one of those things that we, when creating our scripts, set once and forget that it required a password when we did it 6 months ago.
OK.
In 10.6.8, when running under my admin account and setting this option manually by clicking on it, I am not asked for a password.
When using this: tell application "System Events" to set UI elements enabled to false
I am asked for a password.
That's odd. In 10.6.8 I keep UI elements enabled set to unchecked (false). When I run my script, it's changed to true, the print handler runs, it's changed back to false. And that's in an admin account.
In Lion, in an admin user, same setup. When I run my script, it's changed to true with username&password, the print handler runs, it's changed back to false with username&password.
Yeah, I agree. Pretty odd. I am wondering if there is another factor that is controlling this, besides admin rights. |
