DiskImageMounter

  • Subject: DiskImageMounter

I am encountering some buggy behavior with alias files (created by my script) that point to an item within an unmounted .sparsebundle disk image file in Lion, 10.7.1.

In systems prior to 10.7, double-clicking the alias file caused a short pause while the image disk mounted, then the original item of the alias (a folder) opened. I've never encountered the slightest problem. It just worked.

In Lion, when I double-click the alias file, I get the standard dialog which states;
	"The alias '...' can't be opened because the original item can't be found."
and offers the buttons:
	Delete Alias	Fix Alias...		OK
I click "OK" and try again. After a few tries, the image disk mounts and the folder opens.

I would hate to have to explain to the user why he should never, never click anything but OK.
(because it would screw things up!)

This seems to be a problem with the "DiskImageMounter.app" which is shown as the "Open with" application for disk images. Before I jump to a bug report ...

Has anyone seen this behavior in Lion?
