I tried that. TextWrangler exposed that the file is a package. The sole component that contains the data I'm after is full of special characters with no obvious meanings. I did discover, however, two other ways to get at the data:
1) File -> Export -> Report... will produce an Excel file. This will work nicely.
2) File -> Export -> to QIF will produce a QIF file. TextWrangler tells us that a QIF file is all ASCII and looks to be in almost-XML format. I'm thinking of maybe converting to proper XML then using Satimage's XMLLib routines to access the file. This might work very well.
I think output looks solved, thanks.
I'm still empty-handed on input, though. Any ideas on modifying transactions?
