I tried that.  TextWrangler exposed that the file is a package.  The sole component that contains the data I'm after is full of special characters with no obvious meanings.  I did discover, however, two other ways to get at the data:

1)	File -> Export -> Report... will produce an Excel file.  This will work nicely.

2)	File -> Export -> to QIF will produce a QIF file.  TextWrangler tells us that a QIF file is all ASCII and looks to be in almost-XML format.  I'm thinking of maybe converting to proper XML then using Satimage's XMLLib routines to access the file.  This might work very well.

I think output looks solved, thanks.

I'm still empty-handed on input, though.  Any ideas on modifying transactions?
