I'm not interested in a flamewar either, just stating how I feel using the newer OSes.  Not being able to turn off all the animation is an excessive distraction for me and the more I have to see it, the more annoying it is, since it can't be turned off.  Just makes me angry the more I use the newer UIs since I've got no control over it and it's always there.
