Noooooo ! :) A standard library could make things even simpler ! :) And if it's just a "put that in this folder and script" install away then I can't see how that can be conceived as running counter to AS's inherent advertised simplicity !
Think about the dates, the paths, I/O, all the stuff that we pretty much take for granted coming from the command line. That's not simple in AS.
And it is not simple because amateur scripters by definition do not spend their days scripting and forget and when they come back to Script Editor (or anything else) they don't remember how to do some stuff anymore and have to go back to the same errors again and again.
