Hello Ed
A good starting point is to download BridgePlus, Display Toolkit and CalendarLib built by Shane.
The user manual for BridgePlus is available at :
http://www.macosxautomation.com/applescript/apps/BridgePlus_Manual/Index.html
each feature is illustrated with a sample script.
The code of the library is run only.
Display Toolkit and CalendarLib are delivered with their user guide. These two libraries may be edited if we need some specific features.
I was able to add eight custom handlers to Display Toolkit and was also able to expand the library's sdef according to my eight new handlers.
At near 73 years, I am unable to memorize the names of the ASOC primitives but with the samples - we may build interesting things.
I'm sure that others may do what I did.
I may guarantee that libraries don't bite.
