Hi Thomas,
I suspect that the market for Script Debugger is greater than 100 copies. My company alone owns eight licenses to Script Debugger—yes, all at $200 apiece. Only two of us do scripting, but this allows us to keep Debugger running on several machines at once.
Whether you're a professional or do scripting for fun, buying Script Debugger is money is well spent. I would estimate that it saves 40% of my effort. What would take me five hours with Script Editor can be done in three with Debugger. Your return on investment (ROI) will depend on the rate at which you value your time and how much time you spend scripting. The greater value, though, is not efficiency, but effectiveness—your ability to achieve a desired result is greatly enhanced by Debugger's rich feature set. That translates into less frustration and greater peace of mind, especially under a deadline.
Sorry to sound like an advertisement. I have no interest in nor connection to Late Night Software other than as a customer and one-time beta tester.
Stan C.
