I have to admit I am totally astounded at how difficult and confusing it is to do something which should be very, very simple: Create a new document in TextEdit.
I have been following this thread with interest. Given how much difficulty you AppleScript pros have had, I wonder how the average Mac user, sometimes AppleScript user, ever manages to properly do this.
When you guys finally arrive at the best solution, could someone do the world a huge favor and post a handler to create TextEdit documents in a few places where it is likely to be found (ASUL, MacScripter, MacOSXAutomation, etc).
