The salient fact is Apple didn't just “let Sal go", they removed his position - i.e., they're not going to replace him. That raises the worrying question as to what happens to an Automation team without a manager...short term, perhaps nothing, but its hard to envisage Apple have a long term strategy for a technology they see "no business reason" to provide a manager for.
