Yeah! I believe it is important the people at Apple see that automation is an
important feature of the OS.
The more people are registered for whatever Apple proposes, the more it is seen
as important.
So, even though people might register for whatever other Applescript mailing
list, I’d strongly suggest to all to register and show up at whatever is the
alternative that Apple  proposes.
