I’ve been using Mail.app since I switched from Eudora somewhere around OS X
10.1 or maybe 10.2. I’ve tried dozens of mail clients, but not one has been as
good overall as Mail.app. Sure, some have some better features, but they do nt
handled a dozen or maize accounts containing many hundreds of thousands of
messages as well as Mail.app.
Yes, I am annoyed at some issues (se my signature for one), but Mail.app keeps
getting better and better and the very few issues I have with it are not show
stoppers.
The most recent changes of a quick-bar and per-mailbox filter settings has been
a dramatic improvement for me.
I’ve tried using Google Mail since you needed an invite to get an account, but
it’s never stuck for me (though I actually ‘use’ it a lot via supporting others
who use it).
That said, I don’t see any real changes in 10.13 other than a new directory
location and structure (~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/…)

Apple broke AppleScripting signatures in Mail.app, so no random signatures.
