Wow! I can't imagine how one user would want to accumulate "many hundreds of
thousands of messages", even over a life-time, unless he/she was saving all
spam. LOL
100,000 messages is about 385 messages/work-day (or about 48/hour) for a year..
While one might get that many, I can't imagine saving all of them, at least
not for the long term. If you had to process 48 msg/hr, you probably wouldn't
get anything else done. LOL
What would you do with a half million of saved messages?
I suppose if you were in some type of legal business, this might be required.
But I don't think I'd use a mail client to archive all those messages. That's
more the job of a mail server.
I'm curious. How is the Apple Mail performance in searching through many
hundreds of thousands of messages?

but they do nt handled a dozen or maize accounts containing many hundreds of
thousands of messages as well as Mail.app
