Not to spoil the fun, but question:
Is there a "more cocoa" way than "current application" to set the system-wide input/output volume? (Apple's search is not aimed at people who don't mostly know what they're looking for)
The standard additions way worked well enough, but if there's a different way that's "more cocoa", it might be fun to try that too.
