Garr,
I hate to sound like a dumb bunny but I feel like one right this minute.
Our
group, NCMUG-OH, also hasn't gotten their mailings. I believe our President
approached you about this in the last weeks. We do not have login or password
information either to any of the UG sites. That has been lost,
forgotten in the
change to current officers this last year. We have no idea where or if UG
mailings are being sent to us. We have been trying to get that cleared
up with
no results so far.
I've been successful in getting the Regional Apple Liaison to change our contact
email to myself this past February after having had all emails being
sent to
someone who had not served as Membership contact for two years. Unfortunately
those emails were often not forwarded from that previous officer in timely
fashion to avail our members of the vendor specials offered to UG
members. Glad
that that problem is no longer a hindrance to club workings.
However, that has not clarified our group's Apple site administration. I've
sent a recognizance email to the help lines at ASW and the User Group assist
once again. We'll see what happens.
But can you clarify for me, because I'm confused?
You mention that if we are listed as a User Group, it is not the locator
database that determines which groups get the UG Sales Boxes. It is required
that the ambassador be added to the ASW database in order to do so. Is this
perception correct?
If so, how are these UG ambassadors added to that database? Is it an automatic
addition from the UG locator database as being the UG President or what?
Because if we are not signed up, nor have knowledge of the need to sign up
separately at the ASW database in addition to the User Group Admin database,
there are a lot of user groups out there that don't get the special quarterly
mailings. They also had no idea that they had to sign in at that separate
database in order to do so, which may speak to the problem of those of
us not
getting the package that some user groups consider as regular routine.
Can you please send me a "follow the dots" clarification, off list if
necessary? But I hesitate to say that some other UG leaders on this
list would
have interest in this answer as well.
Thanks in advance.

If you have not received your group's copy of the 10.2 update (Jaguar) in

About 30-50 mailboxes come back to us after every mailing due to "bad

addresses." So make sure your snail mail address is correct at:

Remember, too, that I am not talking about your snail mail address listed on
