Good Question!
Our MUG has typically held a holiday meeting that is less structured
than the normal agenda of club business, presentation, and Q&A. Our
meeting hours which are 79 pm on the last Monday of each month normally
change to the third week for December, as typically the schools (where
we meet) are closed during that time period. This year we will have our
meeting just days before the holidays begins... on the 23rd! We may not
get as great an attendance as in the past with everyone's busy schedules
those last days before Christmas. But...those that are able to squeeze
in some time with friends and Mac-neighbors will be having a grand time
with those we've come to count as part of our family.
The club usually provided all the refreshments for this event, with any
free to bring any treats if they so chose. This year with a down-turn
in funds, we have made it a pot-luck event with all asked to bring
something if they could but it is not mandatory for attendance. Anyone
can still come visit without bringing a dish, The club will provide
punch and some shrimp as a special treat!
This is usually our most well-attended meeting, unless we have a special
presenter, due to the fact that one "really" gets some time to sit and
chat with friends about whatever subject they desire, not just the Mac.
It helps to build camaraderie of members and everyone enjoys themselves
immensely.
As an officer, I look forward to this meeting as I will be able to rest
and relax rather than the normal hubbub of regular meeting planning and
set up whereby one hardly gets the time to talk to any one friend/member
before having to rush off to do something!
In the spirit of giving, I wish you all a happy and wonderful time!
