Hi Macbeth:
Garr would be the one you contact. I can't speak for him, but do know
that the issue has been discussed and the answer is, unfortunately, "no."
The offer was extended in good faith at the earliest possible date. Some
groups opted to buy their account earlier than the deadline. The good
thing is that it was only $50. Yes, I know, $50 can be a big chunk of
money to many (most?) groups, but it is what it is.
For what it is worth, your group and mine must have been registering the
same day because we have the exact same situation, and now have two
different .mac accounts. We're opting to see it as having 2 email
addresses and 200 megs of storage for only $50. Since we were ready to
pay $50 for half of that, it is an even better deal.
Resourceful groups will find ways to take advantage of an extra 100 megs
of online storage and the accompanying benefits, I'm sure. We also want
to show Apple what we can do with such a nice benefit, so that it can be
renewed next year.
