Maybe she forgot that. There should be *some* advantages to being a

Wow, two attacks in two days! That has to be a records, even for me!
<cracking up>
Ok, Let's clear up *this* myth before it gets out of hand.
I know David is referring to me, as he is a subscriber to my OS X list and I
did just post passwords to the members/subscribers on Sept. 18.
I am Group Leader for an On-Line Only OS X MUG and Discussion List.
MacRogues is listed on the Apple UG locator in the "On-Line MUG" section.
This list is a private, subscription only, 24/7 moderated, discussion list
and Mac user group for the purpose of discussing OS X use, problems, tips,
assistance, etc..
NO ONE can post to this list unless they are a member (subscriber). NO ONE
can be a member/subscriber unless I personally approve. NO ONE can read the
*UN-EDITED* posts unless they are a member. Any secure information, such as
passwords, is edited out, by ME, **before** the daily digest is published on
the PUBLIC website. OR, I let the subscribers know that I have the
passwords, and ask them to e-mail me **off-list** if they want the
passwords.
Yes! I do place an archive of all the daily digests on a public website at
http://osxlist.com.
Yes! I do give the private MacRogue members the passwords for the MUG
Store, as well as any discounts and deals.
HOWEVER!!!, I DO NOT, placed the passwords on the public digest archive. I
*ALWAYS* edit this information from the digest *before* I place it on the
MacRogues digest archives.
I have the highest regard for Apple, the Apple MUG Store, and all vendors
that support Mac User Groups. I am not about the violate, or jeopardize,
*my* personal relationship with ANY vendors by giving out private or secure
information on a public forum or website. MacRogues OS X MUG is NOT a
web-based public forum. It is a private, subscription-based only, e-mail
discussion list.
Thanks for listening,
Janice Kempf
