Here are some reasons why I think they may be limiting certain programs
outside of the US:
1. All ASW CD's are in English and therefore of less help to groups that
operate in a different language.
2. Shipping costs to a foreign country are MUCH higher than the US. Not only
do they have to pay a lot more to get it there - they must spend a lot of
time filling out customs forms etc... I don't think Apple's willing to
commit more money to the UG program and even if they did I'm not sure if
that9s where the UG program would like to spend it.
3. AFAIK, ASW is designed for USA/Canadian reseller affiliates so an
appropriate system for exporting the CDs may not be in place.
4. As stated earlier Export Restrictions. I know on the top of my copy of
office it says something like "US/Canada Only". Often times the ASW DVD's
will contain software such as the QuickTime 6 program which may be limited
in certain countries.
