Hi Rick,

Here are a few links you might find helpful.

places to buy used/refurbished:
<http://www.projectordepot.com/projectors.asp>
<http://www.infinitymicro.com> (some great deals on refurbs)
a little primer on projectors:

For smaller meeting rooms (up to about 50 ft) and depending on ambient and interior lighting, 1500 lumens or better does a fine job. I recommend a projector that supports 1024X768 since iMovie requires that resolution and we do presentations with iMovie a lot. Make sure that you have any adapters needed for - e.g. - a 12" PB (which may not work with some projectors) or other model. Most projectors indicate Mac support. If you have a longer throw and in "up" lighting, you want at least 2000 lumens.

Replacement bulbs can be really pricey (not as bad as they once were) so shop around. MacWorld Product Finder can help but, for best results, catalog photo dealers have the better pricing. B&H Photo (very Mac-friendly) is great for stuff like that (and projectors, too).

I tend to prefer Epson and Canon projectors. More reliable, great sharpness and easy maint. when/if needed. the 53c is a good choice for the buck.

I hope this helps. Feel free to reach me via iCa/v or email off-list as well if I can be of further help.

Cheers,

Dan
