Remember, you work for your members, not for Apple.
And it's probably in the charter to do what is in the interest of the
members and not what you personally feel.
Especially as most MUGs collect membership fees.
Wow, for a previously "free" service, a lot of people are rather (a
word
that rhymes with "witchy") over having to pay a nominal fee each month.
For the content that comes on those discs, I'd be willing to pay out
of my
own pocket for the privilege of getting free presentation material and
NFR
copies of New and snazzy Apple software.
I'd love a copy of the material that was in the "Jaguar for Teachers"
extra CD. Not even asking for the free .Mac account or the free copy of
Jaguar that some MUGs received.
I'd pay out of my own pocket for any support. Our "demo" copy of
Keynote is actually my personal copy. Our "demo" copy of iLife is my
personal copy.
And no, we don't collect membership fees.
You can only freeload for so long.
Some people don't know how lucky they are.
