You can - at least in theory. I was trying to get info out of Apple
Training on the "Getting Started with Mac OS X version 10.2" CD that is
included with the X for Teachers kit because I found it to be
excellent. (My wife is a teacher.) We want to use them in a lending
library for our members. It appears to be be the same self-paced course
listed here:

A couple of e-mails with Jeff Mosqueda revealed the following:

I believe they are about to or have just put together consumer-level

didn't sound too expensive to me (something like $50 or so for the cd

I'll see if we can get the UGAB to highlight this in an upcoming
bulletin.

Unfortunately, a couple of phone calls to Apple Training got me
nowhere. I left a voicemail message once. I got a reply on my answering
machine that included a phone number that did not connect to the
individual who called me and just got me another voice mail slot. I
left another message on that voice mail suggesting that the individual
who'd called me (whose name I don't recall now) e-mail me to end the
game of phone tag. I never heard anything else - and, yes, I had left
my e-mail address in the message.
I've been waiting for the possible UGAB announcement Jeff suggested
above, but that hasn't come yet either.
I got tired of waiting and finally just started putting the word out
among schools in my area that our UG is interested in receiving
donations of any of the disks received by teachers getting the X for
Teachers kits who don't need them. Those teachers who haven't
previously heard about that offer, or the Keynote/iLife offer, seem
quite appreciative. I think this path is going to prove far more
successful than my attempt at dealing directly with Apple.
