Just adding my agreement...I think it's fine to have affiliate programs. The
harder thing is getting your members to remember to use the special
banner-links and to appreciate the potential for your group.

Ditto the one who pointed out that the issue is not non-income, only
non-profit. And profit, as looked upon by legal authorities, is a more
fiscally-technical issue than is likely to apply to a user group, although
those groups that are actual non-profit corporations have a specific
reporting burden to deal with.
