I consider myself a Mac geek, not a creative type so the name is a turn off. I am sure people in the East will still go and the Mac geeks will find each other and have fun. But I am really glad IDG plans to keep the title Macworld Expo for San Francisco in 2004. I like the idea of an event for people who love Macs. I want to see vendors who know the Mac. Recently I talked to a video "expert" who said, "I don't know if Macs have Firewire." That's exactly the kind of vendor I try to avoid. Vendors at Macworld Expo usually know enough about Macs to answer my questions and help me buy the right products. I'll miss Steve Jobs but Phil Schiller is a wonderful speaker and there can be plenty of panels with our favorite mac personalities. I look forward to sessions about Panther, Rendevous, iChat etc. Not interested in publishing etc.
