I
am wondering if I should be retaining membership information. For example,
presently the membership form for our MUG only asks for their email name and
email address. Should I be asking for full name, street address, etc.

So, if a vendor contacted me to check on the status of a membership, I'd
have a devil-of-a-time.

Thoughts. >>

Our group runs a small email list. Recently I was going threw the list, there
were email addresses on people I don't recognize. Nonmembers can receive
email from our list as well as members. I cam imagining working with an online
group would be much the same but much larger. Knowing what part of the country or
world might also be handy. I am sure you could make up a simple Claris/Apple
Works spread sheet or database and keep it up to date (not an easy task) might
be handy. Asking for contact information may also be a problem. They might
think they are about to get buckets of SPAM.

Good luck
