The Michigan Apple User Group was said to be founded in January of 1978 as a
Apple II User Group. Our current membership director has membership records
dating back to 1979 and said a good number of members joined in 1980. I
recently requested a archive of some of our old newsletters for reprints for
some of the few members who haven9t made the jump to OS X yet. Our longtime
publications director Warren Hart passed away a few years ago and the
archives we handed over to another member, but I have tried to fill his
shoes in producing our monthly newsletter, The AppleGram. As far as I can
tell our oldest current member is from March of 1982.
Seems like we are tied with the Apple Corps of Dallas for one of the Oldest
User Groups:

Still have a couple founding members among the membership, and keep
newsletters tracking back to 1998 online; but have newsletters tracking
back to the very first in the garage of the first Editor - (back in
those days newsletters printed out on green and white continuous form
paper took several hundred pages each(!)

Anybody know who is officially the Oldest APPLE User Group?
Funny thing is that late last year I ran across a website about Mac User
Groups and their longevity. I aasked about some info from some of the
longtime members and received a few replies. Here is the link to the
website:

They also have a questionnaire requesting info from User Groups who have
been around for a while (not sure if they are still requesting info).
