"Expensive" is relative word
meaning that it depends on how many people you can realistically get
into the prize pool.
if your prize pool is small - then go for a variation on the theme -
something of quality (this is an Apple-related org right? =-D )
other ideas would be Leather Jackets, engraved iPods, Brenthaven Cases
(for powerbooks) etc...
cost to make - I think you'd be reasonably surprised how little extra
it costs to get a logo stitched onto quality wear - the real cost is
the basic garment - but then you may not need to go real leather the
first time out - just something very nice looking with some durability.
Drop into a "Things Remembered" for odds and ends - and look around the
internet for companies that do custom stitching on clothes and coats.
Stitch because it's a more quality product - and last exceptionally
longer than silk screen or iron-on.
more 2 bits

I like Michael's idea though, I can imagine a t-shirt with the Apple
User Group logo on the arm and maybe a large colour print on the front.
They would make idea charge for raffle prizes, but maybe a bit
expensive to produce?
