Bottom line, then, is that it's probably already in there. It doesn't
even have to be the Server version of OS X and you don't have to use
a G5. Apache is in there for web. Postfix, IMAP and POP servers are
all easily doable for mail. Logon control is already a feature of the
OS. ACLs are also in there, simply not talked about much. There are a
number of good tutorials already out on the web for these things.
Just do a search on the web for the specific functions you want to
learn about. I have a number of server functions running under Tiger
on an eMac for a small company I support, and it's doing a fine job.
