AUGD: AUGD's Purpose

Simply stated on the AUGD site:
"A place for Apple user group leaders to exchange ideas and discuss topics related to Apple user groups."
I cannot help myself in suggesting that the AUGD list has become a reflection of what user groups have become.
Gutter sniping, bickering, condescending, leadership that has driven away people that have turned to MUGs and listserves for support and guidance.
How many MUG leaders will fess up that they have lost valuable resources i.e. contributers to their MUG because of the type of behaviors/comments made by the "Leaders" on this list?
If someone took the time to join a listserve or a MUG and asks a civil question and the response is to humiliate and chastise that person then it only stands that the number of participants will dwindle and the quality of the list and our MUG will suffer.
Yes, Google, MacFixit, Version Tracker, Apple Knowledge Base, and the Take Control series have replaced many of the information services that MUGs and Mac related listserves have provided over the past.
But not to recognize that many people just want to have a sense of belonging and to have human support is ignorance.
Just my thoughts and well within the parameters of the AUGD mission statement.
Joe Ferguson
