Gary,
Our website [ www.bamcentral.org ] is run from a dot Mac account using iWeb. No, dot Mac accounts are not able to run MySQL or php.
The reason we decided to go with the dot Mac solution was two-fold. First, if anything were to happen to me (or if the board decided I was not doing my job and fired me) any one of the board members would be able to pick up the site and keep it up to date or even re-design it.
Second, as a Mac User Group, we thought that demonstrating to our membership what is possible with iWeb and a dot Mac account was a good thing.
Hope this information helps.

I asked her if she even considered using iWeb and/or .Mac. She writes, "Ever run a site from a dot Mac account? (just wondering if it could be done. I don't think dot Mac accounts run MySql and php)." I tried asking at Apple, but its been a week and I haven't heard from them, yet.
