Holycow.
I think is one reason Apple keeps User groups safely away from their
core. Any association with this presidents action could cause serious
liability. Unless the disk and license is transferred, it's most
likely considered piracy. While it may be ethical to help a person
who is down on their luck, this would generally not be considered
legal. Both your client and the president may be considered liable.
One of the free office suites or even google docs would have been a
good choice.
It also sounds like the president undercut your business as well if he
is a competitor. That's very unethical.
