We did try waiting till the end, but ended up moving it up to 2 hours or so into our three hour meeting. We try to schedule the advanced type demos to the last hour, so the drawing becomes the segue to the advanced part of the meeting. The newer computer users and the older members usually use this opportunity to leave. No point in making people stay when they don't want to.

We hand out the tickets just before the drawing (if you don't stay to the end of the meeting, you don't get to participate, makes people stay longer). Each ticket has two parts, one of the participant, one for us to put in a Crown Royal bag to draw from. Cheap, easy, fast, nothing beats it. And cheaper, easier, and faster than printing up your own.
