I look at it this way ... Sal's book is better than no book. Sure, there are other AppleScript books out there, but Sal's is the most current. :)

I've never written a book, but I gather that, unless your name is Dean Koontz, Dan Brown, or Stephen King, it's pretty much a labor of love. No question that tech books can be expensive ... but I'm guessing that the biggest reward Sal got from writing the book is the fun artwork on the cover ... and break-even on his time. Given that, I can be patient for an updated edition. :)
