Several months? Defined as? 8? 7? 3?  That's the problem with deciding that
Sal "must have known" the exact date. He might have, but how long had that
date been decided for? Keep in mind that even as late as the WWDC, which was
in June, just over two months from what would be the release date, Apple was
announcing "some time in September". That turned out to be late August.

No matter when you release a book, you're going to miss something. But to
sit on the book and have zero sales for over half a year, because a
relatively small subset of the book's content would change, (and Sal may not
have been able to talk about that at all anyway), really doesn't make sense
in light of the significant length of time the content would be current for,
and that the majority of the content of the book is still current. I can't
really see how anyone got screwed, used or abused by this, even in the
slightest.
