I am assuming that not having to be part of the MFI program means you do not need the extra authentication hardware in the accessory is this correct? Basically, we make small coin-cell operated devices with not much free board space, and the idea of adding another IC is not promising for us .. we need to be able to use bluetooth we can fit on board and communicate, without any extra hardware needed .. if we use BLE, would we have to have the extra auth chip?
(this could be a deal breaker for us)
