Bluetooth Low Energy background operation

  • Subject: Bluetooth Low Energy background operation

Hello,

I am developing for an application that I would like to interface with an iOS device by sending data in the Bluetooth Low Energy advertisement payload. I am periodically sending this data (on the order of once per 5 seconds) and was wondering if it is possible for the application to still receive this advertisement payload data when the the application moves to the background. I currently have been successful when the application is in the foreground but the application appears to only receive one advertisement in the background and then nothing else.

Thanks for your help,

-Matt
