Keep in mind those options are to buy shares of Apple at around $43.59
per share. At that price, Steve would be crazy to exercise them, seeing
as the stock price is much less than that. I've read that Steve has
exactly 2 shares of Apple, and hasn't exercised any of his options to
date. Quoting MDJ 2001-06-15, "In the year 2000, Jobs's compensation
package included a Gulfstream V jet and all taxes on it, valued at US$90
million, plus US$1 in salary, plus options to purchase up to 20,000,000
split-adjusted shares of Apple stock at US$43.59375 per share."
Also, options are not money until they are exercised, and even then only
if you buy the stocks for less than current market value, and then
subsequently sell the shares to pocket a profit.

Apple just awarded Steve Jobs something like $780 million in stock
options
as bonuses for last year.
How many developers could you hire for $780 million?
