I'd agree! I don't think it would alert you if there was a new version of StuffitExpander, even though that is included with the system as well. I think Apple should license VersionTracker's services and have Software Update alert you of updates to *all* apps on your harddrive...

Anyway, this isn't a cocoa-dev issue...Move the discussion to email@hidden or something...Or studentdev, where the issue has been handled already...
