To redux:
* Several people sent me mail saying that different versions of Mac hardware
put their serial number in different places. Apple System Profiler knows
where to look. I don't.
* I was interested in doing this for uniquification, not for copy
protection. Several people suggested that I use ethernet Mac address, which
is supposed to be unique. I'm actually using a code made up from the time
and random().
* However, I should probably start thinking about copyright issues. Is there
a good shareware registration service available for OSX programs?
