Using Cocoa is a joy. Cocoa is technologically far superior to almost
anything else I have seen. Carbon is the stone age of programming

Well, what does "well proven" mean in this context (excuse me for
not looking it up in Google). Does it mean that it is known that
you can complete an application with it ? Probably not.
Does it mean well tested with very few bugs and optimized
performance ? Not the Cocoa I know of late.
I still like it, but actually sometimes I think it is showing its age.
IMO Cocoa only really shines together with EOF/Obj-C, alas those
days are gone...
As to the original question, my view is that as long as Java is
unsuitable for writing something like iPhoto, Cocoa-Obj-C will live
and prosper, which should be the next five years at least.
