Well, I am a bit tired of always needing to change my email address.

What you probably want is your own domain name. The company I'm using charges only 0.49 / month last time I looked ($ 1 ~= 1).

Well, the domain might be somewhat more expensive in other countries. Here,
for example, I am paying ~$28 a year just to have my domain (no services included, only that they allowed me to use it. No way to switch company -- there's only one government-based office which controls domains and charges for that). A .com or .net domain would be considerably more expensive (I don't remember the exact price).

Agreeably still not a prohibitive price by far, of course. Just not such a trifle as in Germany (not speaking of the fact the income here is considerably lower -- I am lucky to belong between comparatively well paid programmers here, with something like lousy $16/hour!).

Noteworthy storage space costs more.

It does, of course, but this *is*, unlike domains, a free market, so you can select company with price/services ratio you like.
