New to this list, so please forgive me if this question has already been
asked.

I'm in the process of developing a System Preferences pane, and I've noticed
that by default the pane is displayed in the "Other" categeory. However, it
would make more sense for my pane to be displayed in one of the already
existing categories (i.e. "Personal", "Hardware", etc.).

Is it possible to place 3rd-party preference panes in one of those
categories, and if so, how? Is there a bundle setting that must be added, or
something that must be physically changed within the code or nib itself?

This information is stored in a plist in /Applications/System Preferences.app. I managed to add something to another category, but I don't think that it's supported by Apple.
