You can see what I mean by opening TextEdit, creating 2 new documents,

work.
Step 1. Log a bug on Apple.
Not sure exactly what to report as the bug. This is not a bug in Cocoa,
I think, but it's a bug almost bound to occur in any app. So do I log it
as a TextEdit bug and that's it?
Step 2. Wait for Apple to fix it. :->
While waiting, there's very little information available to me as to
what's happening with the bug. I can only see the last modification
date, state and resolution. Is there any way to find out more?
There are lots of bugs in Cocoa -- Radar has many thousands of open
bugs just on Cocoa, I would guess. Trying to work around all of them
is a lost cause. If the bug bites TextEdit and more or less every
other app on the system, I would leave it to Apple to fix.
The tragic exception is if your app's design is such that it
"exercises" a particular bug much more than other apps. For example,
if this option-click thing is for some reason integral to the use of
your app, then you might need to find a workaround (in which case I
can't help you, if you were wondering about that :->). But I didn't
know option-click even *did* this, and I've been using OS X since it
was called NeXTSTEP. I'm guessing the numbers of users of your app
that will hit this bug is pretty close to zero.
The context in my app is different than option-closing, and is more
likely to occur, I think. More details (if you're interested) in my next
reply on this subject.
Thanks,
