Not to stretch this out even further - but here goes.

I think we Americans are a little too proud of our ignorance and laziness. It makes life easy for me that essentially all scientific communication is in English, but I don't like it, any more than I like seeing a McDonalds on every streetcorner in the world, any more than I like the corner bookstore being driven out by Amazon, any more than I like fucking corporations (excuse my "French") attempting to overrun every aspect of modern life.

If you folks like "universal standards" so much, you should all move to .NET - I hear it's the future of computing!

All the best,

Randy

Hi John,

this is another nativ German. Actually, I didnt want to participate in this thread, since it might get me connected with email@hidden- but believe me, we merely share the same nationality!

Of course it was f****** bullshit what this guy posted (to continue his tone, which certainly isnt the way I use to converse). My explaination for his posting was, that he must be TOO proud of his English. Probably he wants everyone to go through such a pain and learn another language. Its just stupid. Just forget it and PLEASE dont think, that that was a typical German opinion.

But: It really strikes me, how univocally the 3. Reich and our "Fuehrer" was used to argue with mahakk! It does not really seem appropriate to me- not even mahakk mentioned anything like German would be a superiour language. (Although Ondra: at least at the moment, you'll have to admit, that German is definitly a more important language than Czech simply because there are around 100 Million people in Europe talking German).

So guys, although you are definitly right about mahakk's ignorant posting, please don't stop thinking yourself and dont use comparisons which are plain stupid.

Hi,

The reason I brought this up, is the original CLEARLY, requests ALL cocoa
developers to have a look.

And no herr mahakk you are not correct in your assumptions.
And my final point is this:
English is the language of computer programming, get over it, just because
your Furher didn't take over the world is not an excuse to become abusive
to someone who expects the adherence to standards.

Ok, just as a matter of interest can a native German speaker tell me if
they can get the gist of the following...
Mr. angry from Germany(m <email@hidden>) is telling me that my German
is so bad that he can't understand 1 word of it...

If the above is utter rubbish then I will never attempt to converse with a
german again ;-)
John.

Discussion after watching Disney's "Lilo & Stitch":

DAD: "But why did the space aliens speak English, as opposed to French, or Swahili? And why did the one alien speak English with an Eastern European accent? I don't get it."

CATHERINE (age 7): "That's 'cause you don't have a good cartoon brain."
