Yes, but I think that most people who use Mac OS X these days, come from
Mac OS, where they are used to the OK/Cancel button.
-Many of these people think (like I indicated) that an Apply-button is
Windows-ish, so I think it's worth considering using the OK/Cancel style.
I fear you did not understand.
I am speaking of a framework, which *allows the user* -- each user
independently -- to select whether the prefs should
- be of the buttonless immediate type
- or have general OK/Cancel (for all panes at once)
- or have pane-specific OK/Cancel (for each pane separately)
- or both pairs;
- or OK/Apply/Cancel instead of any or both those pairs.
I *personally*, matter of factly, prefer the two OK/Cancel pairs (one for
the current pane, one for all panes), but that is completely unimportant.
First, the reasonable default is no buttons at all anyway, for that
conforms best to Apple's HIG. Second, tastes are here to differ, which is
exactly why there are defaults ;)
