Do I really have the crappiest development machine on the list? I
currently use a 300Mhz "Lime" iBook, just recently upgraded to 288Megs
of RAM, previously at 160. And while the extra ram *definetly* made
running multiple apps nicer, I was fairly content with it before. Maybe
the fact that I grew up on a C64, with multiple-minute loadtimes for
even medium-sized games, gave me the ability to be patient when it comes
to compiles :-) I've also noticed that it keeps me from going off into
the land of bloatware. As someone who writes games for children, my
customer base (young parents) aren't generally rich enough to be buying
the latest and greatest, so if I can make stuff run nicely on my iBook,
I'm pretty much set...
Oh, and I can only run it at 800x600. That and the fact that I can't
watch dvds or avis are my only complaints with the machine.
