If the app was distributed in a StuffIt archive (why? Compressed disk images
work fine!) then this is a sign of the decompressor using the broken Stuffit
8.0, which strips the executable bit from the executable in the app.
Double-clicking on such an app here does a sort of half-bounce in the dock
and the icon disappears on itself.
Fixes: get the users to use Stuffit 8.0.1, or 7.x, or move to using
compressed disk images.
Cheers,
Chris
