Actually I think this would be a really good thing to do. Back when USENET
was king, you'd see many groups post a monthly FAQ or some other document
that would explain the rules and regs of the group. So maybe something like
that would be good to have here.
I think the document shouldn't be an FAQ in and of itself, but should be
some sort of document that helps to collect various resources relevant to
the list in one place. Kept up to date and posted every month to the list, I
think it'd become a big help to all readers of the list. As much as it's
good etiquette to search archives and other resources before posting, if one
doesn't know of the archives or other resources, it's kinda hard to go
search them. So a regular, up-to-date posting of this nature I believe would
be a big help.
Having URL's to things like the official page for the cocoa-dev mailing list
(for subscription management and archives); to the MacOSX-dev page at
omnigroup.com; to cocoadev.com and cocoa.mamasam.com; macdevcenter.com, your
FAQ... and so on. Listings of the various Cocoa resources out there where
people can go to try to find their answers.
