But how do you really feel? :)
Is this some kind of proverb? English is not my native language. :}
Personally, I think it looks much better, and it helps the Search
panel stand out.
I honestly think it looks horrible. What I hate most about metal is,
that the contrast between borders/background and content areas is so
strong. I find this distracting and straining (?) to the eyes.
I promise the next release will have a pref to turn off metal.
Thank you! Thank you very much! Especially since I couldn't patch it
... ;-)
(I'm patching every release of Safari. It's so much nicer in aqua.)
The quicklist table should be tall to minimize scrolling (i.e., to
avoid dragging). I didn't want to give up the space that would be
occupied by potentially six radio buttons for Foundation, AppKit,
WebKit, ScreenSaver, PreferencePanes, and AddressBook.
OK. Let me think about it ... what if you'd replace those radio buttons
with a list view. Items should be sortable by hand and it would be in
one split view together with the quick list. That way I would be able
to put those categories at the top that I use most often and to choose
how much space I want to use for which part of the list.
In case my explanation was too confusing, here is a concept graphic:

Size and dimensions are also why I moved Search into its own panel.
I have to admit that I don't normally use the search feature. Most of
the time I know what I'm looking for and where to look. Or I want to
browse through a class to see if it does what I need. So that are the
parts I like to be as fast as possible. :)
